Radisson Resort Gold Coast triumphs in Queensland MEA awards

AUSTRALIA – Radisson Resort Gold Coast won two major Queensland Meetings and Events Australia (MEA) Awards in Brisbane on Wednesday March 16. The resort won the Meeting Venue for under 500 Delegates and Corporate Social Responsibility categories.

Radisson Resort Gold Coast general manager Gerard Knight says it is a great honour. “MEA recognises excellent business practice in the meetings and events industry,” he says. “These awards are a tribute to a dedicated team. We worked together to achieve an excellent result in a challenging year,” Mr Knight says.

“We are thrilled to be voted the best meeting venue for under 500 delegates but we are particularly proud to take home the Corporate Social Responsibility Award for the second consecutive year. Radisson Resort Gold Coast takes corporate responsibility seriously. Management and staff focus on environmentally conscious practices, responsible management of people, and giving back to the community”.

“We impress professional conference organisers and delegates with a range of outstanding features and a team dedicated to service excellence. The resort is ideally located in tranquil golf course surrounds at the centre of a radius that includes the best of the Gold Coast. Radisson is 10 minutes drive from golden beaches, the Gold Coast Conference and Exhibition Centre, the casino, exciting nightlife, shopping precincts, and two major sports stadiums. Guest rooms and a variety of meeting venues create a pleasant working environment,” he says.

“We meet the market with a range of value added features. These include free high-speed internet access in all guest rooms and meeting venues.  Technical experts Staging Connections create outstanding themes and reliable audiovisual operations. Digital signage makes conference communications easy.  The concierge team can arrange transfers from Gold Coast and Brisbane Airports as well as to and from local destinations”.

“Conference delegates enjoy the business and leisure facilities. Leisure facilities include two swimming pools, day and night tennis courts, an extensive gym, a driving range, and day spa. The resort links with five championship golf courses. The conference and events team impresses delegates with menus that cater for all tastes and dietary requirements”.

“The MEA Awards will spur the team on to achieve even greater results. We are now looking forward to the national MEA finals, we hope to show the judges that Radisson is where Queensland shines,” he says.
