H Celestyal Cruises, based on the activities of Greece and with the ports ipc/disembarkation primarily to the Greek islands and the Eastern Mediterranean, presented progress which was recorded in the 2018 and has announced the future of design, as well as new destinations are being added to the routes, in the context of the Press Conference, which took place on 3 December in the “48 Urban Garden”, the presence of important officials of the company.

Overall, the 2018 was an extremely successful year for the company, as it managed to exceed their goals and increase passenger 8%, compared with the previous year, hosting to 108 000 passengers from all over the world, with the operation of two ships, and while achieving high load factors.

During the event, the Ceo of Celestyal Cruises, mr Chris Theophilides, who took office last July, referred to the positive messages of the cruise for the region, in spite of the geopolitical circumstances of the previous interval. It also noted the considerable efforts of Celestyal Cruises, for the lengthening of the tourist period in Greece, where this year, for the first time, the period of realization cruise was extended up to November, while he noted that in 2019 the routes extend by 8 weeks from the 4 weeks that it was in 2018, covering the public demand for cruises in the Aegean and in the Autumn

Mr. Theophilides, emphasized that the purpose of the company, every year remains the continuous improvement of the offered services and the adoption of new, innovative initiatives. An important objective for 2019, he noted how, is to further intensify its efforts for involvement throughout the year through the addition of new routes to cruise, such as the “Exquisite Aegean” and the “3 Continents”.

Consolidating its position at the global level, the Celestyal Cruises this year has managed to strengthen even further the strong commercial network in Europe, America and Australia. Mr. Leslie Peden, the 2018 assumed the position of Chief Commercial Director (Chief Commercial Officer), found in the event, presenting the commercial structure of the company in 11 countries and the development strategy for 2019. Also, it was reported in the presence of the internet and digital media, with the approaching travelers from more than 140 different nationalities.

As a result of the concerted actions of the company, this year, recorded an increase of American and European tourists. Specifically, 52% of passengers came from distant markets, such as the USA and Canada, while 29% of passengers from the nearby markets of Europe.

Why, then, took the cap. George Κουμπενάς Director of Business Operations (Chief Operations Officer), who referred to the continued contribution of Celestyal Cruises in Greece, through the multidimensional contribution to the national economy, giving emphasis to the strengthening of Greek businesses and the promotion of Greek destinations worldwide. In particular, the direct operating costs of the company for the 2018 amounted to 28 million. euro, while the total expenditure on promotion and advertising of Greece reached 4.1 million. euro.

In addition, it was reported on a total of 663 approaches to the English ports, carried out during this year, spreading the Greek beauty to 108 000 passengers, with the total estimated cost of the passenger to touch 39 million. euro, 2018. It is worth to note that the total estimated contribution of the company in the national economy totalled eur 102,5 million. euro, for this year.

Finally, mrs. Froso Ζαρουλέα, Director of Public Relations, presented a brief account of Corporate Social Responsibility program of Celestyal Cruises, which supports practice in the sites visited the company and focuses mainly on man and society, with a central axis of the support of young people. By 2015, more than 2,500 students on the islands of Milos, Patmos, Ios, Samos had the opportunity to attend innovative educational programs, thanks to the initiatives of the company. 2018, in cooperation with the theoharakis Foundation in athens, the Celestyal Cruises held the educational program “Archimedes”, which was implemented in primary and secondary schools of Samos. The program began in April of 2017 with the training of teachers on the island of Samos and was successfully completed in June 2018, having “touched” more than 1,200 students and teachers on the island of Samos.
