The Greek tourism received a new international awards in London. After the award of Greece in ITB Berlin as the leading destination of leisure and the minister of Tourism, Elena Kountouras, as the best minister of Tourism in the world, Greece became, in the critically acclaimed international institution for the marine tourism Wave Awards as the “best cruise destination worldwide” – “Best Destination (Port or Country)”.

The Wave Awards are awarded each year in a special ceremony in London after a vote of professionals and specialized journalists in the marine tourism, as mentioned by the Athenian Agency. Greece was a candidate for the first time in the category of “Best Destination (Port or Country)” and won the 1st prize.

Our country, excelled for the 2nd consecutive year and the audience awards, as the 2nd most popular cruise destination in the world- “Favourite Cruise Destination”. The awards received by the head Office of GNTO Uk & Ireland, Amy Anagnostopoulou. The new awards, confirming once again the effectiveness of the communication strategy of the Ministry of Tourism, which implements the world’s EOT through the Office of tourism abroad, highlighting Greece as a top travel destination 365 days a year. At the end of the event, the winners of the prizes and the participants were photographed against the backdrop of the Santorini at the official photo booth of the Wave Awards, to honor the new discrimination in Greece.
